I can't believe that there's been no mention of No Dice?
Certainly one of the most professional cover bands around.
While there's a certain amount of sadness to see them playing covers rather than original material, Alec Pollock (Chasar) and Paul McManus (Glasgow), give this band an edge over the other "clubby" cover bands!

Yup, I agree. No Dice are the most professional covers band I've ever seen in Scotland. Saw them a few years ago in Bannockburn - the sound and mix was excellent. Superb musicians and good use of guitar technology to imitate keyboards too.
5 or 6 years ago I lived in Fife and saw a few other impressive bands. Joe's Band had a big following and always got folk up dancing. I remember them doing stuff like "Hold The Line", "Maggie May", "Jump", "Living on a Prayer" and they usually finished with "Hey Jude". Maybe other readers can add to the list? The songs all suited Joe's hoarse voice perfectly. Did they also play "I am the Walrus" or was that someone else?
Someone mentioned Full Metal Racket (bloody great name!) on another thread. I saw them once and really enjoyed their set - it was good heavy stuff A to Z. UFO, Lizzy, etc.
Does anyone remember another Fife band called Luxury Fitted Kittens? They were great, what happened to them? I remember they had a very young keyboard player, but they were all good musicians. They had the audacity to play "Kashmir", "Shine on you Crazy Diamond", "Highway Star" and "White Punks on Dope" in their set, also songs like "Virginia Plain" and "Ziggy Stardust". They did throw in a couple of silly songs (eg Tom Jones?) but otherwise it was great stuff.
Limelight Robbery was another band at the time who played a challenging set. Again, no sign of them nowadays. Their set went on for ages - they must have played 30 songs. I remember them finishing their first half with "In the Flesh" complete with the aeroplane sound effects LOL! They played a few Rush songs, "Jacob's Ladder" comes to mind. Their singer was a big guy, a Zeppelin fan with a real gutsy voice. They also covered "Sylvia", "Radar Love", "New Year's Day" and, one of my all-time favourites, "Nantucket Sleighride".
Rock on...

Have to agree!
With Chasar's Alec Pollock and Glasgow's Paul Macmanus both in the band you know that you're getting something a bit special.
Saw the guys in Zico's in Wishaw a couple of weeks back - fantastic.
I think most of the rock covers bands could learn a lot from these guys!
