Levee Breakers are easily the best UK Led Zep tribute!

For a Zep tribute act you can't beat the Levee Breakers!

Very authentic and put all the other Zeppelin tribute acts to shame.

The abysmal Led Zep (and especially the guitarist) should make a point of going along to a Levee Breakers gig and see how it's actually done.

While Led Zep aren't near the same level as the Levee Breakers they're alright for the small pubs that they play in!

Most of the complaints certainly seem to be about the guitarist (Jack Nimmo) though!

I agree that the Levee Breakers are a very good Zep tribute and the playing is of a very high standard.

However, the singer needs to stop the "banter" between songs or at the very least practice his links. This is the only area that lets them down.

Still, they are in a different league to Led Zep (the tribute) musicianship wise.

Led Zep are OK for seeing in Zico's and place like that.

Led Zep peaked with their appearance in Zico's - they won't get any better than that!

I've had the misfortune to see them as well - Jimmy Page would not be impressed!

Is this the same Jack Nimmo who played in the band Layer or Lair band in the 70's?

I remember seeing them frequently in the Crown Hotel in Wishaw.

Had a good 3-chord song called "Show Me A Reason".

I haven't seen the Levee Breakers live but I must admit their demo is pretty impressive, but they have gone for lots of studio versions (with lots of overdubs) which would be impossible to do live unless they have a few extra guitarists!

Haven't seen Ledd Zepp (Previously The Led Zeppelin Story) either, but I have met their singer Alex and he is a nice guy and sounds awesome.

However, for a complete package, Led Astray (based in Edinburgh / West Lothian) take some beating, but I'm a little biased since I play drums for them and manage the band!

I reckon all three Scottish Zep tributes are way better than the likes of Whole Lotta Led, Fred Zeppelin, Stairway To Zeppelin, Letz Zep, Led Zep Too, etc, from England, but I think too many bands treat the whole thing like a big competition. We just want to have some fun playing our favourite songs and put on a great show for the punters!

And here is recent clip from The Renfrew Ferry!

Next (confirmed) gig will be at The Edinburgh Corn Exchange with Black Rose (Thin Lizzy tribute) on Sat 27th June - only £6 on the door! But hopefully there will be a few more before that!

We will also be playing at The Regal Theatre in Bathgate during the Bathgate Festival in October - TBC!

Hope to see you there.
