Things are looking very good for Lanarkshire rock music fans with another Wishaw date for the recently reformed, La Paz, on Thursday 18th June, 2009.

Hopefully the local rockers will make the effort to turn out and support the gig at Zico's which has been let down by the lack of local support in the past.

Also reformed recently, Chasar, also play Zico's on Saturday June 20th. The band of course features Alec Pollock from cover band favourites No Dice.

This has to be one of the most talked about gigs of the year so far for the established (i.e. older) rock fans and again it will be interesting to see whether the locals give their support and even more interesting to see whether the band favour the earlier material with the classic 3 piece line-up or go for the later material from the expanded 4 piece line-up? Our bet is a selection from both versions of the band.

At the end of the day, if you call yourself a rock music fan you should be supporting these gigs! Make the effort and don't just sit at home moaning that there's no local gigs. The management at Zico's aren't going to change anything and start a proper rock night until they see some evidence of some support from the locals!

C'mon let's see the Dance Music DJ put out of a job on a Saturday night? It's up to you!
