Hi again guys - I don’t mean to hijack this thread or anything but I just wanted to update you a little on our motives for getting La Paz back together what we’re doing now…

We have just managed to upload all of our old material to our website. It can be downloaded for £0.50 per track. There are 16 tracks in all and you can click on a link from the music section of our website to take you to a secure server where you can listen to snippets and download and pay for any that you want.

The quality isn’t great but it was a long time ago and we didn’t have any money for long studio sessions or quality producers!

THIS IS VERY VERY IMPORTANT!!!!

We’re doing this for charity.

ALL of the profits from sales will go to a children’s charity in La Paz, Baja California, Mexico. You can find out more about this charity on the lapazrocks website.

Thanks for your time and interest.

Keep on rockin

Great to see a La Paz website at last!

Be nice to see some more of the old photos though - you must have more than that?

Yeah - we have but they're all prints and so need scanned first. That just takes me to get organised and sit down to do it...! I will get to it though - promise. Thanks again for your comments and support. If you're feeling flush, buy some of the tracks online - I am just back from La Paz, Mexcio where I saw what the cash is doing for these little kids. There are some pictures of them on the site now. They are just wee kiddies and the idea is to get them into the football teams which gets them off the streets; the additional bribe is that they are fed everyday at school if they are in one of the teams and because they are so poor their parents make them go to school for the football and free food which gets them at least a basic education. Can't think of a better outcome from some old rusty demos :-)

I'm holding Chic back as well at the moment as I've promised a load of stuff from the "archives"!

All my old La Paz stuff is on negative (remember them?) and the time taken to scan each negative on a dedicated film scanner is around 15minutes at a reasonable quality.

It might not sound like much but I've got stuff going back over 30 years (surely I'm not that old?) and suddenly there's been a big nostalgia revival.

I'm currently working on La Paz, Zero Zero, Chasar and even Trident (to name but a few) whilst remaining around a month in arrears for any "current" stuff.

Anyway, there's La Paz stuff from the Heathery and Kelvingrove to come hopefully in the near future! Be patient.

Cheers

Billy

Indeed I did leave Neat speed 1986? ish and moved to London. For the last 15years I have been an airline Captain for KLM. Still I love music and have been actively playing clubs in a band called PSG, when I am not downroute in some Hotel. I recently met up with Chic in Wishaw and yes old men can still rock. If anyone has any old pics of Neat Speed I would love to see them. As for the whereabouts of Suttie - does anyone know?

June dates folks...hope you can make at least one!

Thursday 18th June : Zicos, Wishaw

Friday 19th June : Renfrew Ferry, Glasgow

Saturday 20th June : Studio24, Edinburgh

Tickets for all will be available on the door.

Zico's is an early start and we need to finish by 11.00pm (school night folks!) and we are supported by Crossfire that night. Tickets £5 on the door.

We are delighted that we will be sharing the bill with No Dice at The Ferry - great value for money at £7 in advance and £8 on the door!

We were booked for East Kilbride's Artburst festival but totally without warning the local council cancelled two hours from the programme and dropped us. That's what you get when you rely on local government...Our lawyers will tear them a new asshole whilst we have now managed to secure Studio24 in Edinburgh for that night. Ticket price, possible support acts and running times to be advised later so please check back.
