Anyone know what became of the original line-up of Glasgow?
i.e. Mick Boyle, Joe Kilna, Archie Dickson and Neil Russell!

As far as I'm aware, Mick now works as a lorry driver, Archie is a music teacher (some mistake surely ), Joe is now calling himself Joe Kilna-MacKenzie and plays with Clann an Drumma and Neil got married and moved to Holland. As for later members, Paul McManus (drums), now plays with club band, No Dice and another Glasgow drummer (from a very late last gasp lineup) Davie something now plays with Alice Cooper tribute, Gallus Cooper. If anyone has any more accurate info regarding the band Glasgow I'd be interested to hear it as well. goblin

I spoke to Joe briefly when Clann an Drumma played at the Rock Radio birthday gig at the garage and he told me that he didn't know where any of the others were! I got the feeling that there was still some bad feelings between the ex-members!

There was a huge fall out between Mick Boyle and Archie Dickson and they still don't speak to this day! Archie's since mellowed but Mick refuses to speak to him. Great shame as this would be a fantastic band to reform!

I was a roadie with Glasgow in their heyday. One member missed out from the other replies is Brian Cartwright who played keys on Zero Four One. who now plays with Gallus Cooper along with final drummer Davie. Met Joe Kilna at a gig we were doing for Saints n Sinners bike club last year who told me there is talk of Glasgow doing the reunion thing that is surging around just now (sort of...) Gun,Heavy Pettin',SAHB,etc... can't see it happening myself... but.. you never know.

Did Stuart Clyde of Abel Ganz fame play with Glasgow?
I vaguely remember seeing Glasgow supporting the Party Boys(SAHB) in "The Rocking Horse"
Did the guitarist have some black and white thing going on with his amps?

The keyboards on Zero Four One were played by Don Airey and Gavin Povey! mabozza wrote:Met Joe Kilna at a gig we were doing for Saints n Sinners bike club last year who told me there is talk of Glasgow doing the reunion thing
It could only really work if Mick Boyle was into it. I spoke to Mick at an Alice Cooper gig a while back and he says that he would never work with Archie again. I, for one, would love to see a Glasgow re-union but I really don't think it could happen. warrior_soul

In the later days of the band, when they were quite obviously on the way out, the line-up changed almost daily and members came and went after single gigs. However, although I remember Stuart Clyde joining Abel Ganz in the 90's, I don't remember him playing keyboards for Glasgow. I certainly never saw him play with Glasgow. That's not to say that it didn't happen because, as I said, near the end the weaker line-ups could actually change between gigs in the same week. warrior_soul

Sadly Joe Kilna passed away on 28th April 2009! RIP! One of the great local musicians who will be sadly missed! The Guvnor
